| At Rebec we follow old traditions--our primary emphasis is on improving sound. As far as aesthetics, the design of Rebec guitars is ergonomic and simple without emphasizing form over substance. Although Rebec guitars have a rather exotic look due to natural finishes and the exotic look of the wood itself, it is purely functional and helps achieve better performance. We don't have fancy contours, but our geometry is unique. We use the finest woods, as with most expensive brands, but more importantly our techniques are our own. | |

The process of selection of the material for our instruments is the crucial point for us. It's not just the sort of wood and meeting humidity standards that matters for us, but very importantly, the acoustic characteristics of a particular piece and methods of seasoning and drying used. We do not allow wood which we get from suppliers to go right away into our instruments just because it met existing standards. That's where we only start our selection process. |

All our instruments use oil/wax
finishes because:
Rebec guitars are fully handcrafted (no machine-shaping, which if you look closely is the case with most "handmade" expensive instruments). |

Rebec guitars and basses punch through not only in the studio where almost any instrument can be made to sound good. The hardest test is playing live. Rebec instruments have an "in-born" EQ and punch to cut through the mix without the "muddiness" common with other brands. Our instruments won't let you down when you need to sound your very best. |
